Last weekend saw the long anticipated return of Electric to the Sydney rave calendar. The CRC Production team picked out a fresh and fabulous venue once again, the Ninevah Sports Club in Edensor Park, Fairfield. For those that made the trip down it was well worth it. The actual party was located in the function room, a huge area with air conditioning (a ravers best friend), and for all us old folks who are over 18 we had the rest of the club to play in too!
As the party had started early, 8pm, I arrived to just catch the end of Phase One, Shadower and Spank’ s set. A divine mix of hard house, hard trance and hardstyle which set the party mood. And the as the Kandi ravers arrived so did the happy hard, with Aladdin and Ryno spinning some of the best tracks in the genre, old and new.
Illfx, the trio from Wollongong, got the crowd pumped with their electric performances, as well as Team Rocket. Both trios really get the dance floor excited, always looking as though they are having as great a time as the crowd. I guess that’s why Team Rocket have lasted so long and almost every raver rates their performance above others every time! They are true performers, not just a group of DJs and MCs.
Electric really had a good feeling and a great vibe. The crowd was friendly, the DJs were fun and exciting to watch, and everyone just wanted to dance - a perfect mix if you ask me! Add in a SPECTACULAR laser show and who could ask for more.
As the night grew colder and Tom-E and Archie began to play, it was time for this little raver to say goodbye. Once again this CRC production proved that the party people are the best promoters, giving us the great vibe that you don’t often feel at the bigger events. I hope we don’t have to wait another year for it again.
