For 10 years these dj/producer duos from Germany have been responsible for some of the biggest tracks to grace our ear drums at clubs and in our cars. Dennis Bohn, aka Dj Bonebreaker, half of this internationally renowned group, was kind enough to lend his skills to the turntables at Rise. Brooklyn Bounce celebrating there 10th anniversary with a host of new releases, a best of album and of course the world tour. Those who were there to meet him were greatly rewarded.
As always Simon Barwood never ceases to amaze with his ability to get people onto the dance floor. Giving us a rough taste of the night to come he then passed the turntables over to Rousa who squeezed more people into an already pumping dance floor. The crowd was now primed and ready for Bonebreaker.
Many of us grew up with Brooklyn Bounce and there hard dance music, strait off the last Nick Skitz or Wild compilation. So expecting tracks of such caliber we were well pleased with Brooklyn Bounce classics such as ‘Bass, Beats & Melody’ and ‘Crazy.’ It was a step back to our roots, of our love of for electronica music.
Though as we grew up so did our taste in music, hardstyle comes readily to mind. But we were more than pleased with some good ol’ hard dance tunes to keep us pumping. I take a short break outside to rehydrate and when I return I am greeted by the distinct sounds of the aforementioned hardstyle music. Seems we weren’t the only ones who grew up, Bonebreaker showing us he knows exactly what we want.
Such a versatile dj, basking in the glow of his masterpiece, Bonebreaker effortlessly evolved from hard dance to hardstyle. He even threw in a bit of euphoria and indeed played a bit of everything to make sure everyone had a good stomp. Successfully followed up by Riki and Steven Tranzor made for another quality event at Rise. Already looking forward to Brooklyn’s return with undoubtedly more quality djing.
