Deep house DJ/producer Etienne de Crecy was a key figure behind Paris’ rise as one of the world’s dance music hubs during the 1990s. Born in Lyon, he has peddled his talent under several different guises, including Motorbass, La Chatte Rouge, and Super Discount. His first major undertaking, Motorbass, grabbed a cult following soon after its launch in 1991 and not only alerted the world to the rapidly evolving Parisian dance music scene, but also spawned underground favorites like the Motorbass EP, “Transphunk” single and Pansoul album. An irresistible talent, de Crecy has also served up the legendary Super Discount and Tempovision albums, released countless iconic tunes (including “Prix Choc” and “Am I Wrong?”) and remixed the likes of Air and Alex Gopher.
