that was probably more strategy than anything, that workout was set up so that if you broke up the muscle ups into multiple sets you had to run penalty laps so i think they were probably trying to conserve energy on the run

I dont find it particularly attractive from a "i want to bone her" point of view, but i think she is pretty amazing at what she does and what she has achieved, and her physique reflects it.

Does anyone else suffer from massive head spins when lifting heavy? I nearly passed out this morning doing snatch.

That's a bit of a worry.

Is your neck being impinged in some way? Have you had your blood pressure taken recently?

SpaceMonkey 01-Aug-14 12:51pm

Was always standard post squats and deads for me.

Astro-Boy 01-Aug-14 12:53pm

Real heavy squats in sets of 5 used to make my world go a little bit dark.

Quick q: how would you calculate theoretical 1RM for the purposes of 531?

big eddie 04-Aug-14 01:38pm

http://www.exrx.net/Calculators/OneRepMax.html

Use a current 5rm or 3rm - then use 90% of that as your starting values for 531 calculations.

Note - calculator is in pounds.

You're crossfit friends are ripe pickings for these kind of scams.

tapout 07-Aug-14 11:40am

Funny thing is, its not the CF guys and girls that are falling for it, its the post baby mums at home that are spamming the FB pages as they get brought into the fold of Isagenix. It started with one or two and thats fine, but I think there are at least 4-6 different people evangelising nutritional cleansing every day at the moment.

Her voice annoys the shit out of me with that contrived pseudo-American way she speaks.

KingWicked 10-Aug-14 11:17pm

She looks like a sullen Russian boygirl. 1/10.

WalterBrown 10-Aug-14 11:55pm

Don't see the need for a mention, I see hotter chicks on the daily,

if it is a music related fetish, i can agree though, i'm in love with the singer from Melodys Echo Chamber, Azeial Banks, Rihanna, and MIA

little_brad 12-Aug-14 08:59am

Tappers/charge have you got your tatts yet?

tapout 12-Aug-14 10:07am

Reebok Crossfit tattoo chest piece already planned out, will post up in a sec

little_brad 12-Aug-14 11:21am

Tobi 12-Aug-14 04:03pm

Hey look Soylent is in the media again.

http://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/hea...-1227021909860

And on SBS tonight.

Poondaddy Shortbread 12-Aug-14 05:47pm

NLV's voice is sexy as hell

SpaceMonkey 12-Aug-14 05:51pm

Nah.

First lady:
"She said long-term the shakes would not deliver a healthy eating habit and that humans by nature enjoyed food."

Second lady:
"She said long-term the shakes would not deliver a healthy eating habit and that humans by nature enjoyed food."

Those are some terrible counter arguments. How can having all the vitamins and minerals that your body need be an 'unhealthy eating habit'.
Also what exactly has flavour and eating got to do with being healthy? Last time I check, it's usually the most unhealthy stuff which tastes best...

KingWicked 12-Aug-14 10:45pm

Can any of you recommend a HRM - preferably something compatible with iPhone apps. Cheers.

little_brad 13-Aug-14 08:58am

Polar H7

I assume you want it for the Bullettproof™ HRV sense app so you can Upgrade™ your heart?

KingWicked 13-Aug-14 10:55am

No diggity, I'm aiming to executivise and upgradificate my bio-mounds. Thanks. Do the chest straps get annoying? I was half considering a Mio which would look less twattish than a chest strap when swimming.

I think their point is that living exclusively on shakes would likely be unsatisfying, which would lead to cravings, which would in turn lead to unhealthy eating habits. It's a valid point, but badly articulated.
The best eating patterns are those which are actually satisfying and sustainable long term.

IHAVENEWLEGS 13-Aug-14 11:16am

Why the fuck wouldn't you want to eat food, eating good food is one of life's great pleasures. Weird ****s.

Aspergers or laziness.
Not really that much difference between microwaving tv dinners and drinking a nutrient shake.

Plenty of people who subscribe to this describe buying/cooking food as 'stressful'

Actually that's a reasonable point, maybe I can tuck it under my bra strap.

Except one would significantly deliver, in most cases, more nutritional value but just not as solids!

Aw. Yiss.

little_brad 14-Aug-14 03:21pm

4mm heel? woah, good bye heel cords man

Astro-Boy 14-Aug-14 03:46pm

Yeah Duncan. Full paleotard or GTFO.

gotamangina 14-Aug-14 03:50pm

I would wear them out

little_brad 14-Aug-14 03:53pm

Imagine walking around in them for a day, it would be like using a ped egg for 12 hours

gotamangina 14-Aug-14 04:04pm

Wait, weren't you arguing against minimalist shoes a while ago. Or were those articles you posted just to provide food for thought?

The only conversation I remember having with you was about poo.

tapout 14-Aug-14 08:32pm

Speaking of poo, did anyone just catch Catalyst? Really interesting discussion on fibre content in our diets and overall health, I'll be smashing psyllium again I think.

little_brad 14-Aug-14 08:57pm

Psyllium, pro biotics and potato starch ftw

I've had a pair of Merrell trail gloves for more than 2 years. I think they work for some people and don't for others. They're not a silver bullet cure-all for everyone, that's my point. I don't personally run in them, because I don't have any issues with traditional running shoes. For battling around in, and lifting in, quite like them.

KingWicked 14-Aug-14 09:39pm

Hey Duncan - thanks for the FB link. Have you heard any of N77's older stuff when he was doing stuff as The Hermit?

DuncanM 14-Aug-14 09:46pm

KW, nope.

KingWicked 14-Aug-14 10:12pm

Do you want to? I'll upload and link if you're interested. I've known him for about 13yrs now. Fuck, time flies!!

Liquid? do you mean powder or tablet? i take tablet, used to do power but its easier to regulate intake with tabs. go for something like Polybac8 not inner health plus because they only have a couple of strains of bacteria

Its a form of resistant starch, feeds the healthy gut bacteria. I had had some gut flora probs

Finally got a replacement ANT+ dongle. Finally I can analyse how slow I am running

Astro-Boy 15-Aug-14 08:18am

I'd intended to take my 620 and its USB cable to work today so that I could upgrade the firmware and spend the day jeffing around with it.

I forgot both.

DuncanM 15-Aug-14 08:19am

What even is the ANT thingy?

Astro-Boy 15-Aug-14 08:20am

Wireless syncing with your puter.

little_brad 15-Aug-14 08:34am

For those that even lift, i got a pair of these hook grip knee sleeves from this site and they are pretty awesome. Not super tight they just provide a little support and warmth in the joint.

http://www.weightliftingspares.com.a...-knee-sleeves/

it's the same site where i got my shoes from the other week, pretty reasonable prices

Cooled, cooked potato. Potato salad etc has high levels of resistant starch.
