I only ever used the wabbajack while inside Palagious' mind. After that I gave it to my companion Illia. She must have used it as she emptied the charge but I didn't pay attention to what it did. I don't use staffs as they don't give you experience points.

I also came home with Pelagious's hip bone. Is it useful for anything?

get the wabbajack back. Recharge it. Use it. You won't regret it! It rarely kills. Just creates chaos most of the time

Bethesda recently had an internal speedrun competition between the dev team and the QA team. The QA guy won. His time?

2 hours 16 minutes 10 seconds

The dev guy was only 20 seconds off, though.

WTF. I'm seriously.

Ancient dragons + higher difficulty + being above level 50 = epicness.

How you'd expect a dragon fight to go down!

Think i found a big with that tome you get after doing the blackreach quest and harvesting the blood. I took the book home and put it on a bookshelf. Then read it and got the bonus, then it was still there. So i read it again and got another bonus then it disappeared. Not bad for a few quick levels.

Don't waste your time checking pots, barrels or even chests (except for the boss chests) for loot as you can make more money by enchanting & blacksmithing, alchemy and selling filled soul gems (you'll need Soul Capture spell).

The strongest weapons/armour you can get are usually ones you've crafted yourself, specially once you have double enchantment available.

I was an obsessive sort so I checked every pot and barrel for the few pieces of gold they give, and took me 100+ hours to realise I wasted my time. :p

Get a companion early as they divert enemies attention from you. The earliest companion you can get is Faendal at Riverwood.

don't throw out the wabbajack if/when you get it. Much hilarity ensues by using it

check every barrel etc. You'll eventually learn what's worth taking/ looking in. Early on in the game every coin counts

you don't need a companion straight away.. depends on your class & how shit you are. You WILL eventually need one though

Companions steal your XP, keep that in mind. They are also shit at stealth. I go solo most of the time and grab the awesome mage from Dawnstar when I need some backup. He's better than everyone else I've used.

played it for about half an hour now (just got to the first town)... decided on imperial as i didn't want to look like a snake or rabbit then went with the rebels.

I'm not into it quite yet, but it's not bad. I need to get battle tactics down better as well. It's not a bad game thus far, but i think i will end up preferring games like RDR over this... but it looks pretty cool.

any links to blogs or something to help me with the skill level up's? that's pretty confusing at the moment.

when you use a skill it levels up. That's all you need to know.

When major skills go up 5 levels you level up and get to spend skill points in the tree

eg if you cast destruction spells all the time your destruction skill will level up.

If you're not sure about perks yet dude, don't be afraid to hoard them until you get your head around it. I've wasted a few, and you can't get 'em back!

Speech is always worth investing in, especially early on when you're strapped for cash.

speech is kind of a waste in this game imo. Don't use any perks on that tree. Later in the game you'll have cash coming out every orifice you know of regardless. Better off spending perks on something useful

Just spend your perk points on the skills you find most useful. It's not like you are going to become stuck in the game as there are enough perk points to fill up the constellation for several schools of training.

...

lol, I already finished LOTR War in the North. I was hoping it would be longer. It was so cool being in the Tolkien world battling massive trolls and orcs. You get to keep all your stats, equipment, and skill level-ups when you go for a second playthrough on the next difficulty setting, so there is that incentive to keep playing and max out your skill tree and collect more powerful gear. But I think I'll give it a break for now. Would be more fun in multiplayer.

So back to playing Skyrim then... or mebbe America Nightmare.

47. Main quest done. Just got to take Windhelm in the civil war, get married and become a master criminal in all 9 holds

Loved the main quest I have to say, the last level in particular was awesome. Final battle was a joke, though, even on Master. Bit disappointed by that.

Gonna 100% this motherfucker on Tuesday! (off to see The Hunger Games tonight )

Really need to get back into it, especially now there is that bow killcam.
But, if you are using bows for everything, even close quarters dungeon shit, does it get really annoying?

But ZeniMax Online Studios is owned by ZeniMax Media, which own Bethesda. I'm sure Todd Howard and the Bethesda crew have had plenty of input.

What I am curious about, is how (if) they've manage to turn the fluffy combat system of the single player games into a functional ruleset suitable for an MMO.

I've gotten over my lost save game and have started a new one. Going for a Nord female melee type instead of Mage. I regret not giving this game a second chance earlier, as even on the second playthrough it's just as fun.

What's the best quest line to get out of the way for melee/heavy armour types first? The magi place for magic casters was good because you got the ultimate robes early, so what's the melee equivalent?

Smithing is the key not quests.

that would be The Companions in Whiterun

but yeah bonk your smithing up & you'll be able to create your own armor that shits on other stuff

Thanks guys. I just got the quest to investigate the companions so I'll be sure to join asap. Been focusing on smithing as well so glad to see that's the key to armour necessities

ALSO

I assume I'm mainly putting all my perks into heavy armour, 2-handed and blacksmithing? What should be a priority?

I'd lay off the smithing a bit. It's very quick to level and coupled with enchanting its easy give yourself grossely overpowered weapons.

And part of the fun of exploring, for me anyway, is finding cool new weapons. But anything you find will be like a toothpick compared to what you can make once you've maxed out smithing.

Supposed to be coming out sometime in the next 3 months. More details at E3, apparently.
