Interest rates are really really low, in a year or two when they are possibly up 2/3 % from now, you would be really fucked. I wouldnt touch that debt with a barge pole on 4k a month, you need to be able to sleep at night.

Pull the fuse and see what the wire is (let me know, it may be a nail

) . It sounds like it has an oversized fuse wire, and there is a fault on the circuit, thus the fuse isn't tripping. Sounds pretty serious...
