Interesting that I've heard a couple of reports from others that they were't diggin' Minilogue so much. I thought they were gorgeous, personally, and super-sweet guys with a live-setup that put my SH-101/Octatrack/laptop get-up to shame. I experienced genuine bromance and gear-lust....

Anyway, I had such a fantastic night. Was crazy to arrive to Dominik Eulberg fairly-much playing the heaviest, hardest, fastest most ravey music I've EVER heard at Berghain (too heavy for me, but enough to lobotomise any on the floor, and there were certainly heaps of kids dancing/moshing) and then have to follow with my live-set.

Definitely a change in tone at 6am, but seemed to work pretty-well...I was glad to delve into deeper techno territory.

Then, Minilogue took things slower and more psychedelic and deeper still...they really play super-seamlessly - more like a long journey than any distinguishable 'tracks' - which I think is an artform in itself...just sublime, trancey (in the best sense of the word) and certainly psychedeclic. I was home by 830am, but I think that their tone could have set the stage to last for another 6 hours. I'm fanbwoy.

I'll be back to play again soon, and (again) just found it one of my life's 'sacred' moments. Just brilliant.

Special shout-outs also to Upon You, who consistently kept things STUNNING up in Panoramabar - really swinging, jacked up house - no silly whitenoise cliches or faux-Spanish vox (hehe)...just gorgeous, super-danceable house...I was impressed, and refreshed! x

feel free to use english...

i know they are lovely guys, they setup is very live, but i just didn't think it was very good, and was not such a good match for that setting. the vibe was a bit weird when i arrived around 8am, and stayed that way until nodge reset things when he started.

just a few negative-reports about their set....which I'm honestly surprised by...it's strange to find myself in the minority of fanbwoys, but in this particular case, from those I've spoken to about their gig, I am!

Close, people who I have met in person and/or are friends with on Facebook. I don't do Twitter. Would you prefer that I posted them letters or sent a telegram?

Yup. This is the effect that the Berghain had on me.

Whole heap of new promo-shots....something of an omage to the Club, Berlin, fuckedup boys and girls and...um...purple-dresses.

Sasha comes to Panorama Bar

Saturday 20th August at Berghain/Panorama Bar will feature sets from Ben Klock, Monolake, Motor City Drum Ensemble and Sasha.

Sasha has pretty much been at the top of the dance music tree since his nights spent honing the progressive house sound in the mid-'90s through his residency at UK institution Renaissance, which, as we reported last week, is on the cusp of a relaunch. His appeal was at a truly international level by the end of that decade—his and long-term sparring partner John Digweed's residency at erstwhile New York super club Twilo became the stuff of legend. More recently Sasha has adopted Ibiza as his new stomping ground. In addition to dates across the island, he also returned to the Ushuaïa beach hotel this year, hosting a bi-weekly party, Never Say Never.

With all this in mind, it is perhaps a little surprising that Sasha's gig at P Bar next month represents his first trip to the German capital since the early '00s, when he was in town to play the Love Parade. Although there are other acts to be confirmed, he'll be joined by Osgut label boss Nick Höppner during the night time portion of the party, with Motor City Drum Ensemble (making his sophomore appearance) and resident Prosumer lined up for Sunday daytime.

Downstairs meanwhile, Monolake will present his all-encompassing surround sound show, in addition to sets from Heiko Laux and residents Ben Klock and Fiedel

I actually saw sasha play with digweed in berlin at ewerk in 97, he banged it out, and played with techno djs, but this was back when people played dancemusic and didn't worry so much about pigeonholes

I'm sure he will accommodate to the surroundings well.

Would be funny to see all the poms lining up outside to get in though.

Was actually really good, i enjoyed sasha's set, though a hell of a lot of regulars there didnt (packed room all morning though). Paul Brtschitsch was really fun before him too.

TBH i didnt really like Klock, too hard for me, but Monolake, wowsers...prob the best set of the night even though wasnt "danceable".

Prosumer was ace the next day too, would love to see him on a Co_op party

the door is half the fun! we lined up in a shitty sleeting mess at 5am and watched plenty of americans and such get kicked out, they wernt happy haha. When it was our turn though...fuck me the bouncers are scary, straight up vikings and cold war heros!

The place is so out of this world but, lived up to the hype. we had so much fun with the sun coming up in panaroma bar. feels like a dream.. wish i could go again!

So there is a berghain thread. Yup, place is fucking amazing.

Saw bodzin & romboy do their last live set together.
Michael Mayer in Panorama for a little and Klock close Berghain.
After being rejected 5 times over a month and finally getting in on this night, o god. You should have seen the smile on my face when the bouncers, after making me wait for 3 mins after asking how many ppl I was with (just myself), let me in.

It's great living close, can go home and have a drink and chill out for a little.
Don't think I've ever been on a dancedfloor for that long, Klock just blew me away, beautiful dark relentless techno.

Friends of mine went earlier this year and knew exactly who was playing for the night and told the bouncer they were there to see [whoever they really wanted to see]. he let them stright in. so yeah helps to go in small groups and know exactly who is playing
