Bloody Lloyd Williams talked up Zipping and Gallic all week and didn't give Efficient the time of day. Cheating prick.

I'll join the list of people who's trifecta ran in 2, 3, 4.
I bowl. Drive around. The occasional acid flashback.

That cost me

My cup trifecta hit me big time, boxed 8 horses for 100%. I had put it on before maybe better was scratched which meant I wasn't able to put in another horse. If i could have it would have been a toss up between Duoro Valley and Efficient.

I asked my old man straight after the derby when the markets go up for next years cup as i want to have $100 on fixed odds on Kibbutz. Stupid me never took my own advice and included last years derby winner in my trifecta. FUCK!

I had 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and the rest further back in the field... i even had the pacesetter who ran last

Bring on saturday

This is what my mate sent me yesterday morning.. Quite Amusing especially about Efficient

1) Tawqueet – Was favourite for this race last year, and finished last! Is 50-1 this year…will perhaps finish Super Last

2) Blue Monday – If you back this to win you’ll have a Broke Tuesday

3) Bluetigeroo – Loves the wet, like all Blue Tiger Roo’s do…? Maybe a place chance

4) Gallic – One of my top 5 picks. Will he get the distance? Tick. Does he like the wet? Tick. Will he win if Brenton backs him? Cross.

5) Railings – Used to be trained by one of Australia’s greatest, John Hawkes. The Hawksinator, Ole Johnny Boy, the JH man. Is now trained by someone called R James. I wouldn’t back it with your money.

6) Efficient – The Macauley Culkin of horses. Was good as a 3 year old. Done nothing since…

7) Maybe Better – Came 3rd last year, behind 2 foreigners. Solid chance. In my top 5. No joke.

8 ) Tungsten Strike – Is the best value of the foreigners. Will get the distance all day, and then could even run to my mum’s house after that. In my top 5.

9) Zipping – Could be the one. 4th last year. Is my top pick.

10) Black Tom – 150-1 from Western Australia….enough said.

11) Master O’Reilly – Experienced horse, but with an inexperienced little man on board. Place chance.

12) Purple Moon – The trainer’s daughter is hot, so it has to be a chance. Top 5.

13) Lazer Sharp – The best of the 5 Hayes runners, and will probably get 11th. Doesn’t bode well for Hayes.

14) On a Jeune – Finished 2nd 2 years ago and is a sneaky little chance at odds. An ex jockey trains it which is weird. Is a chance as long as an ex trainer doesn’t jockey it!

15) Scenic Shot – Will fly home to run a solid 15th

16) Sarrera – Eats mud for a living. If it pisses down, have a sneaky

17) Sculptor – NZer. A bit out of it’s league, but will be plugging along. Have him for 9th if you can find a bookie that allows such bizarre bets.

18 ) Dolphin Jo – Dolphin No

19) Douro Valley – Has been thereabouts. Will also be thereabouts tomorrow. Thereabouts 14th…

20) Sirmione – Good old Bart jagged another runner. He has trained 11 Cup winners for 75 runners. Also means he has trained 64 Cup losers. Make it 65…

21) The Fuzz – The sentimental Movember favourite.

22) Eskimo Queen – Last start decided to have a nap before the race. I have a new rule in that I don’t back narcoleptic horses.

23) Princess Coup – Pronounced Cope not Coup. Also pronounced ‘sixth’ not ‘first’

24) Mahler – Youngster from the UK. Will probably move to Bondi after the race.

won $10 for a $2 sweep, lol

i guess it has left me some coin to punt on the oaks tomorrow. serious speed ftw tomorrow

had a quinella on purple moon & efficient...

had a trifecta seperately for $50 on purple moon, efficient & zipping..just had the wrong order for the first two and my 3rd choice came in 4th...if I wacked in Mahler on the quad and put Zipping 4th it'd be a huge pay day.

Fuck you Efficient and fuck you lloyd williams.

I have been backing that horse for two years and the Cox Plate turd was the last straw. Then it pulls that out of the bag.

Sore head... backed Purple Moon and Mahler each way, so a nice collect.

Also got Efficient & Purple Moon in two different alehouse sweeps

Decided to back the doggies as it got more blurry... $14.50 winners... was daft.

well done sky and faulks - haven't seen this thread for a couple of days, but that el pauji (sic?) 'get out' tip was excellent (not that i saw it till today, but good work man)

and sky, i'm gonna start calling you the cups king!

for the record - i backed mahler to win and boxed mahler, purple moon and zipping in the tri, stupidly leaving out the less favoured stable mate, what a cockhead!!!

at least i drew efficient in the work sweep

well I was smart enough to get on him...surely the fact that he didn't do well recently and was scratched from 2006 MC would tell you that the horse is due for a good run? when I heard Lloyd put him over the hurdles at the weekend I knew straight away that Efficient would be a good bet. I think if he runs next year then you should get on him and Purple Moon if he returns too.

I like the 10

Skycruiser, just because a horse was scratched last year and has put in ordinary runs this prep at best, does not mean that it is due for a good run. That logic will send you broke very quickly.

My Tips for today... Melbourne

Race 1 number 5 first with 3 and 10

Race 2 number 5 first with 4 and 9

Race 3 number 1

Race 4 prob 2, 4,or 6

Race 5 probably no11

The Oaks cant go past the top 4. cant really decide – Serious Speed is my pick though

Race 7 again, very even...prob 1, 3, 10

Race 8 Like number 1 in the first with 5 ,13 and 7 and 8 outsiders.....cant dismiss 3 and 2 either. number 2 has won its last 7 starts (good race)

Race 9 number 2

yep backed guild - nice easy win, too classy - good odds (didn't have enough on though) - p moody for the running double? (hope not cos i've backed zarita)

first race emphasised to me not to drop off horses that you have been following - had a great result from some total poverty betting

$1.50 the win on ask the music and soleil (soleil won paid about 18 bucks)

$2.00 box flexi tri 33.333%) - la chaseuse, soleil and ask the music - paid 1200ish

$5 outlay (had 8 bucks in my account) - returned about 440 bucks - don't get much better than that when you've got your back to the wall (well maybe not that back to the wall, seeing as i've pilled 600 out of my account since geel cup day)

giddyup, god i love the punt when you're having a win

Some good odds available in the Emirates today if you think anything can top Weekend Hussler. I dunno if I can bring myself to back against him though.
