Paul Oakenfold is certainly one of the pioneers of dance music, constantly in the top 10 of the DJ Top 100, Tranceport shows he’s certainly one of the best progressive trance DJs around.

The album starts off with the tracks The Dream Traveler’s Time and Greece 2000’s Three Drives On A Vinyl giving the album a typical trancey sound with long build up’s and beats that will get you either tapping along or dancing.

Tilt vs. Paul Van Dyk’s Rendezvous and Sasha’s remix of Gus Gus’s “Purple” brings some futuristic electronic sounds into the album and Someone (Slacker and Original Vocal Mix) by Ascension is a eerie sounding vocal track with a haunting voice that will have you singing “Someone Like You”.

El Nino by Agnelli + Nelson brings the beat back up, with its build up’s that don’t disappoint and takes the album up a notch.

Energy 52’s Cafe Del Mar is just one long build up to the highlight of this album, the Paul Van Dyk remix of Binary Finary’s 1998. The uplifting sound of the tune makes all the build up’s so far worthwhile and takes you to that magical level.

Next up, Oakenfold pulls out, Words (For Love) which adds some more futuristic trance sounds to the album and leads us in to Gamemaster by Lost Tribe, which leaves us wondering how he could follow up to this classic tune which is a favorite of many.

He does this well by playing Enervate by Transa, an impenetrable classic, with fast repetitive build up’s that will keep you moving right till the very end.

With a good mix of transcending tracks, this album is perfect to take you away to that magical place that trance music does.
