Mary Anne Hobbs premieres new Burial material on final show

Long the voice of underground dance music on BBC’s Radio 1 in the UK, the beloved Mary Anne Hobbs stepped down from her post overnight, broadcasting her final show after some 14 years on the airwaves.

But it wasn’t a broadcast of nostalgic, This Is Your Life style moments as Hobbs hung up her headphones, rather, the UK DJ went out with a bang premiering new material from none other than reclusive dubstep prodigy Burial.

Featured on Hobbs’ final show with a special guest mix, the enigmatic Burial presented a new mix set alongside Hyperdub boss Kode 9.
