Golden Cage turns two with Carl Craig & Octave One

If you’re looking to get your summer off to a firing start, this is the party to roll up for. It’s been two years since Golden Cage first emerged on the Sydney scene, and the crew has pulled together a seriously top-drawer line-up to help celebrate its birthday.
On Saturday 17 December, The Metro Theatre will be getting a Motor City education. Headlining the night is none other than Detroit don Carl Craig, bringing his Planet E world tour to Sydney. After flooring the Beck’s Festival Bar at Sydney Festival earlier this year, the Octave One live show will take the stage to “bang and try to make some noise” again.
With that double-bill leading the way, it’s going to fall to the Ohio-bred and Berlin-based deep house talent John Roberts to set the mood. Completing the top-tier of names is local star Claire Morgan, who’s sure to bring just the right records for the occasion.
Deeper sounds will be the order of the night in the side room with the CO-OP DJs, Carlos Zarate & Sam Roberts, YokoO, Matt Weir & Kerry Wallace, Dave Stuart and Garth Linton. Golden Cage is also devoting its energies to making the venue just right for the occasion, including birthday-worthy sound. Sounds like a done deal to us…
