Knife Party, Chase & Status and heaps more here for New Year’s

Over the last couple of weeks, ITM HQ has been keeping a close eye on Rhythm and Vines, the New Zealand festival that ushers in the New Year. If the acts that make the line-up have bothered to take the long haul to New Zealand, you can be sure they’re also crossing the Tasman. Well, Rhythm and Vines has just dropped its line-up for 2012/2013, and it’s got plenty of firepower on it.
As well as returning heroes The Presets, the festival has secured drum & bass team Chase & Status for a DJ set, Knife Party, Mark Ronson also DJing, Netsky doing his live thing, UK house star Maya Jane Coles and many more. Add these to the list alongside talent like Gaslamp Killer, High Contrast and Disclosure that we already knew about and you’ve got some good-looking wishlists for Field Day, Summadayze and Summafieldayze, not to mention the New Year’s club shows around the country. Stay tuned, as we can probably expect the Australian New Year’s line-ups to start coming soon.
With the Pendulum live band on ice, Knife Party has been furiously touring the Northern Hemisphere since the release of its Rage Valley EP. Chase & Status was last here with the live band, but they’ve notched up plenty of miles as DJs, and fans have been calling for Netsky’s return ever since his journey around Australia last New Year’s. Then, excellently, there’s the first-ever visit for Maya Jane Coles – surely pleasing news for plenty of ITMers. Then there’s AraabMuzik, the Hospital Records crew rolling together and lots more good stuff.
