Trance fans of Australia; hold onto your hats! Speaking exclusively with inthemix about the launch of the ID&T brand in Australia, Duncan Stutterheim – the ‘D’ in ID&T – has confirmed that their globally renowned event Trance Energy will make its debut down under in 2009.
If you’re a fan of trance then you’ve no doubt heard about this Dutch uber-event. It debuted in 1999 and recently held its 15th edition at the Jaarbeurs Convention Center in Utrecht. It attracts over 30,000 people from across Europe, and in 2009 it’ll venture outside of Holland for the first time to tour Australia. At this stage full event details are still a little way off being revealed, however inthemix can exclusively confirm that the event will debut in Australia over the Easter break in 2009, traveling to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.
In 2008 Trance Energy featured headline performances from Tiesto, Ferry Corsten, Marco V, Marcel Woods, Sander Van Doorn and many more across four arenas. However true to form with ID&T events, the musical talent formed only one part of the overall package, with their production also a major drawcard. “Trance Energy sets itself apart not only through its line-up, which features the biggest names in trance, but also through its production, in which the very latest light and laser techniques and special effects are used.”
Our full interview with Duncan will be online soon so be sure to keep an eye out. He goes into depth on the history of ID&T, which launched in Holland in 1992 and now holds more than 60 events in the Netherlands each year. There are also some juicy details on the forthcoming Australian debut of Sensation on NYE in Melbourne and plans for the future with Trance Energy, Q-dance and more. You’ll have to read it to find out what’s in store!
