Back in September, inthemix and Anjunabeats put the call out to budding producers to rework Super8 & Tab’s Empire. With the winning remix guaranteed an official release on Anjunabeats, the entries came thick and fast.
After some serious deliberation, the top spot has been awarded to Manchester-based producer Craig Connelly. Here’s what Anjunabeats had to say about its pick: “Citing the likes of Menno De Jong, Above & Beyond, Super8 & Tab, Underworld and Deadmau5 among his influences, Connelly caught our attentions with an inventive remix that added a fresh house-fused groove and new melodic textures to Super8 & Tab’s now-classic original.”
Connelly’s remix will be included on the package for Super8 & Tab’s next single My Enemy with Julie Thompson, released on 17 January. Four runners-up were also acknowledged for their production prowess: Oliver V, Nilsen B, Sam Lyon and Kerry Leva.
