UNKLE fans will be mighty pleased to hear that a new EP and a re-issue of last year’s Where Did the Night Fall will be released in time for their appearance at the regional Groovin’ the Moo festival and already announced sideshow dates throughout April and May.

Out on April 4th, the Only the Lonely EP is five tracks of fresh material with a guest appearance from Australia’s own Nick Cave whose vocals and lyrical genius feature on the track Money and Run. Other collaborators include faithful UNKLE vocalist Gavin Clark and The Duke Spirit’s Liela Moss.

“I always had a huge soft spot for UNKLE – their pop sensibilities, their hooks, big choruses, their super-treated production – so when they sent me some music to sing over I jumped at the chance,” The Bad Seeds and Grinderman mastermind said of the collaboration. “The song they sent was great too – something wonderfully dense about it, like T Rex’s Metal Guru or something. I wrote a lyric – something desperate sounding to run counterpoint to the joyful racket of the music. It’s a fucking hit.”

It does not end there for UNKLE, though. Due for release on the 11th April will be Where Did the Night Fall – Another Night Out, a re-release of the 2010 album in an extended format. The re-visited edition will feature a bonus disc of rare tracks and selected takings off the past two EPs, as well as new album artwork and shots from the original photo shoot.

Now armed with plenty of new material at the ready and waiting, UNKLE’s tour is shaping up to be one highly anticipated affair.
