There’s no need to gaze longingly at the line-up for Darkbeat’s 8th birthday in Melbourne any longer. After a long time between solo visits, UK maestro Desyn Masiello has been picked up for a Sydney date alongside Melbourne’s celebrated export Anthony Pappa.

Sunday 24 April is the chosen night (don’t worry, no work on Monday), and the crew to thank is Golden Cage. They’re hosting the two heavyweights at Soho, with three hour sets for both. Sounds pretty perfect, right?

The last week has been a busy one for Masiello, with boat parties, poolside sets and general hijinks around the Winter Music Conference in Miami. “It’s impossible not to get excited when going to Miami,” the DJ told Subliminal back in February. “It’s probably a mix of fear and excitement and that’s something I quite like in a twisted kind of way.” The man’s main focus has been touring of late, but he’s working on a new compilation CD series “with a big group of other DJs”.

Pappa is also busy plying his trade in Miami, including a spot alongside Masiello and fellow alumni at the Balance Series party. 2011 has already started strong in the studio, and he’s had plenty of chances to show off his handiwork on club dancefloors. In July, he’s also set to head up the Global Underground stage with Dave Seaman and Satoshi Tomiie at the immense Tomorrowland festival.
