Versatile, bubblegum-tongue’d MC Biz Markie is a true elder statesman of hip hop, having lived through the best and the worst the scene has had to offer all while spitting his playful verses and lending his rubbery beatboxing skills to friends and colleagues like De La Soul, Jay-Z, Beastie Boys and the dude Will Smith.

One of the Biz’s more recent hook ups has of course been with US kids TV show Yo Gabba Gabba! on which he’s regularly presented Biz’s Beat of the Day, and with the Yo Gabba Gabba! crew all lined up as a part of the Modular programmed Vivid LIVE festival The Diabolical Biz Markie has now been added to that show.

Going down at the Sydney Opera House on June 4th and 5th, Biz will join in the Yo Gabba Gabba! fun for punters young and young at heart alike, a press release from Vivid today confirmed. Also scheduled to take part in the action is local live dance troupe Art vs Science, with the group doing the Super Music Friends part of the show.

Back to the Biz and as any fan would hope the festival slot with Vivid brings with it news of some sideshow dates that will see the US MC bust out Just A Friend and all his other jams that don’t get as much attention on two headline club dates.
