Nu-rave upstarts Hadouken! are set to return with a brand new album, For The Masses, following their debut release Music For An Accelerated Culture, which was put out in 2008.

The electronica/indie group’s new release is said to be a bit more gritty, but the element of Mortal Kombat-esque beats combined with roaring synths is still a strong element within their sound. Tracks like M.A.D. and Turn The Lights Out are sure to bring out your inner angsty teen. The British troupe said they drew inspiration from Pendulum, The Prodigy, The Chemical Brothers and even old Super Nintendo and Sega Megadrive games. “We know what our fans want… They want it hard and they want it fast,” said singer James Smith.

“I want this record to sound good over a 1000 kilowatt sounds system or on a Nokia phone on the back of a bus. We don’t want to discriminate. We just want to make immediate contact,” he continued. “I feel like the stars have been aligning for us… The Prodigy have come back with a massive hit record. I’ve seen Chase N Status and Pendulum rise to the fore-front… The time is right for us.” Clearly wishing to align themselves with the electronic scene, they even called on Dutch drum & bass outfit Noisia to produce the record.

Interestingly, although their debut was released on major label Warner, their followup will come out on February 26 through independent ADA, distributed locally by Stomp.
