The Massive Attack love continues to overflow, with the iconic UK group announcing today that they’ll be releasing an EP of new material around May of this year. And this is still days before their latest proper full length, Heliogoland, is due for release itself.
As reported by NME, Massive Attack will follow up Heliogoland with a new EP, stacked out with tunes that didn’t make the album as well as some new ones they hope to record between now and then.
“We’ve got this one… which we wrote with Guy [Garvey of Elbow who features throughout the album], which we’ve been playing live for two years and we still can’t finish it,” the group’s 3D said. “That’s obviously one of the tracks we’re looking at trying to finish.”
The EP announcement comes on the back of the wave of Massive Attack goodies that we’ve waded through over the last few months, including news of the band’s upcoming Australian live concerts, a recent remix EP with re-rubs from Tim Goldsworthy and Gui Boratto and of course Heligoland itself. Hey, we’re not complaining! After so long in the dark, it’s good to have the guys back.
