Dizzee Rascal just won’t stop, will he? Apart from being one of the standouts at this year’s Big Day Out festival and working with anyone and everyone from Tiesto to Calvin Harris, the UK rapper is adding another feather to his already blooming cap. Author.
As announced by NME, the grime star has been preparing a published version of his life story, tentatively named The Dizzee Rascal Story, with Canongate Books and his own freshly minted literature line Dirtee Books.
“Not only is Dizzee one of the most talented and innovative musicians alive today, he is one of the most articulate and opinionated – as his lyrics testify…,” Canongate editor Nick Davies said of the rapper. “It promises to be a genuinely groundbreaking book.”
Whilst it’s unclear at this stage if Dizzee will be penning the book himself or working with another write, we would hope for the former knowing his gift for wordplay as well as we all do. Expect to be face deep in Dizzee’s memoirs around October (with an audiobook version due out next year, yes!).
