ITM readers might remember a story from a couple of weeks back detailing Deadmau5’s cameo in an episode of Gossip Girl as a guest-DJ at a Manhattan fashion event. He’s got such range. Well this is kinda like that, except at the same time not. Nope, this one is all about trance icon Paul Oakenfold who this week featured on the E! reality-show Pretty Wild when he was booked to DJ at a 16th birthday party (you old dog, Oakey) only to discover that one of the Pretty Wild cast members had previously attempted to rob his home. Confused? Join the club.
As reported by The Daily Swarm, this week’s episode of Pretty Wild – which is centred around three socialites in Los Angeles, Gabby Neiers (16), model Alexis Neiers (18) and Playboy ‘cyber-girl’ Tess Taylor (19) – revolved around the sweet 16th birthday party for Gabby Neiers, with dance music god Paul Oakenfold booked to DJ at the bash (he’s every 16 year old’s dream guy right?). All things were peachy with the party until Oakenfold recognised Alexis Neiers’ name in connection to the so-called Hollywood ‘bling-ring’ group of burglars, which had allegedly targeted the DJ’s L.A. home. Take it away news quote!
“Neiers and friends are actually “the bling ring,” a group of 18 and 19-year-old burglars who Los Angeles police have linked to multiple burglaries of celebrities’ homes, including Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Rachel Bilson, Brian Austin Green, Megan Fox, Audrina Patridge, and Orlando Bloom. Now, Vanity Fair reports, Pretty Wild is not so much about the L.A. party scene as it is following Neiers’ seems-to-be-destined path to jail.” The Frisky
We’re not really sure of the extent of Oakenfold’s involvement in the investigation into Neiers and her horrifically named ‘bling-ring’, and frankly we’re a little scared to find out because the deeper we delve into this turgid reality-show the more orange my skin gets and the urge to take my clothes off in a Starbucks grows ever greater. Shudder.
If you are indeed brave enough to stare down the vacant eyes of Medusa that is Pretty Wild there’s two clips below from before the party (with Gabby citing her favourite DJs as “Crookers, Justice, Jack Beats and Paul Oakenfold” WTF??) and then following the party and arrest. Our favourite part is when the girls are rich, stupid and annoying.
