Electro fans might recall the news that before going all electro-metal on us, MSTRKRFT’S handle bar’d dude Jesse F. Keeler was working on the soundtrack to the next video game in the Mortal Kombat series, taking it in a decidedly clubby direction.

Now the cat is officially out of the bag with the game’s publishers revealing the full lineup of dance producers assembled for the wonderfully named soundtrack, Mortal Kombat: Songs Inspired By The Warriors.

As well as JFK leading the charge with his track for Scorpion, the compilation features a slew of of-the-moment names including Harvard Bass, LA Riots and Skrillex as well as a few Dim Mak acts like Sound Of Stereo and Felix Cartal.

“It’s always exciting to have the opportunity to write music for something outside of the traditional means, especially when it is for a project like Mortal Kombat that has had such pop cultural significance for so long,” JFK said of the project. “It’s a great step forward for the ways that video games can interact with music across unique genres and mediums.”

The soundtrack also features frequent Jay-Z and Memphis Bleek producer 9th Wonder and a particularly good joint from Congorock which you can suss out below along with a snippet of Skrillex’s tune. Is it crazy to think that this might actually work?
